Banana Republic: Friends & Family sale

Hi All! Happy Friday! I’m sure you’re as excited as I am for the weekend, and the fact that it’s a long weekend doesn’t hurt either!

I love that with long weekends come the sales so even if I’m not heading out of town, I can always count on deals to keep me busy…shopping!

Last weekend wasn’t a long weekend but I was still able to score some pretty good deals…This post is from my Banana Republic haul for their 50% off Friends and Family sale.  I love their F&F sale because it gives me an opportunity to pick up some essentials that I wouldn’t otherwise think of purchasing.  This time around was no exception as I found some great pieces at 50% off!

Italian Melton long Wool-Blend Trench Coat

The first is something I’ve seen previously from J. Crew but passed on as it was way to expensive in my mind, even for a fall/winter essential! I must admit that though i wouldn’t have bought this either at regular price of $370, at 50% off it was a pretty good deal. The wool is said to have come from one of Italy’s best mills, Mario Bellucci, which is why the price point is slightly higher than their other coats.  I actually bought a cream wool trench last winter from Banana Republic that was also made from the same wool blen material from the same mill, and it’s one of my favorite coats to wear! While this long coat is gone, the shorter version here is still available (and there’s a 40% discount on now!) in both olive color and black.  As much as I considered the shorter version, i’ve wanted a long wool trench coat for as long as I can remember wanting a trench coat because I knew i’d get much more wear out of a wool version than just the thinner fall version.

Silver Patent Leather Brogue Oxford

The second item i’ve bought are these beautiful pair of oxfords.  I saw a pair last season that I unfortunately passed on by waiting on a sale and have regretted it since so this year I didn’t want to pass up the chance to snatch these up! I’ve tried these just for the fit once I got them, and while a little stiff, is as beautiful in person as it looks online.  I love the gorgeous brogue detailing! At regular price of $160, it was slightly on the steep side, but with the discount it was well worth the wait.  It’s definitely one of those shoes that will need breaking in for sure as they are real patent leather, so don’t think that there will be no pain with these flats even without the stilettoes.  If you are looking for a cheaper version of the acne oxfords however, i think these work by comparison in price and looks.

Skinny Stain-Resistant Ankle Jeans

Lastly, these white skinny stain-resistant ankle jeans which i’m not totally sure about but since i’ve have some good experience with BR jeans before, may keep.  I found the stain-resistant part intriguing as I love white jeans but always find myself getting stains on them throughout the day.  I did get them slightly stained in the packaging but nothing that didn’t come off with a good whacking lol.

I didn’t go crazy with purchases this time (as I had previously done in the past with these sales) because I really just wanted to pick up some pieces to add to my wardrobe which I had been wanting to pick up at some point or another.  I will integrate these with my existing wardrobe and post some pics to show how they work out!

Did you get a chance to check out the sale? What did you end up getting? comment below! let’s share and compare on how much you saved and your stories of things you wanted to get and why!
